Quilts

All of the girlygigs quilts are made from materials that have been well loved prior to arriving in Malawi. Girlygigs strives to use fabrics that have been recycled creating green, eco friendly quilts for our our children.

The fabrics are found in the local markets and the embroidery is done by the local village women. These embroidery skills are passed from woman to woman, grandmother to mother to daughter.

All our quilts are individually designed, resulting in wonderful unique bed linen for little girls.

Wall Letters

Add the personal touch to your baby’s nursery or child’s room with the girlygigs wall letters. Our letters are made using recycled wood and scrap papers. Each letter is cut and decorated by hand and attention is paid to detail.

They make the perfect gift for baby showers, birthdays, christmas or just because you love someone.

Dolls

The first of the Girlygig dolls sits on the bottom of Meren,my little one's bed and spends every night tucked up in bed with her.

Every Girlygig doll that has been made has beenloved and handled by Meren and has her stamp of approval. Each doll is unique and leaves our home with a personality of her own.

These dolls make the perfect gift for a little girl in need of something to hold and love.

Mirrors

The girlygigs mirrors are created out of Gmaligna wood and then painted. Gmaligna is a fast growing, light coloured teak wood that is grown on the farm. The Gmaligna forests on the farm are intensively managed and are continuously being replanted.

Shannon, owner of girlygigs, is a director of a trust that is committed to the reforestation of an Island in lake malawi and to date has planted 26000 indigenous tree seedlings on Likoma Island.

10% of the purchase price of any mirror is donated to cluny wildlife trust and to the replanting of trees on Likoma Island.

Boxes

Girlygigs Boxes are made by a local carpenter who takes pride in his work and just loves to see the finished product.

These boxes make the perfect storage units for CDs, DVDs, and trinkets. No little girl should be without a treasure box and these boxes are just right for the job.

Girlygigs has a number of blank boxes in stock and will cover and decorate according to the dreams of those who order.
